Notes from the Principal
Greetings Saint Ambrose Families!
The Home and School Association Officers and Executive Board voted to move next week’s
HSA Meeting to Wednesday, September 24th.
The Washington Redskins have a Thursday evening home game against the NY Giants and traffic proves to be a hassle for one and all! To avoid the traffic headaches, the meeting has been moved and we will also change the date of the Family Raffle Drawing! I think it will be great to have the drawing at the meeting where the winners can “bask in the glory” of winning among family and friends! Please plan to attend. Our free sitter service will be available and we only ask that you RSVP in advance!
On a final note, while other schools have had a decline in band enrollment, Saint Ambrose School’s band program has grown to 52 students! I am so proud of the work Ms. Massimini has done to help “grow our own” musicians. I cannot wait to hear them play. Let’s Go Band!

Reminder! We need shoes!
Saint Ambrose School Service Project #1
This summer, several members of our parish went on the annual mission trip to our sister parish in El Salvador. They saw many children in the rural areas of San Agustin with no shoes or inadequate shoes. Our shoe collection two years ago was a huge success both here at Saint Ambrose and for the children of El Salvador. So once again, we are asking for
clean, gently used
athletic shoes in all children’s sizes but also for adults (through a size 10). (No cleats please.) In addition, we are also collecting
new or almost new
sandals and Crocs. Each class will have their own collection box during the months of September and October. Two years ago we shipped two full transport boxes to our sister parish. Help us reach our goal of two full boxes this fall!
We are also looking for donations of laptops in
very good working condition
for the cyber café run by our sister parish. Please contact Mrs. Matics (
) if you have laptops to donate.
